Help stop HB1333 “Ministry of Disinformation” Commission
Let’s tackle Washington’s HB1333. Unfortunately, it has passed its first committee and will be heard in Appropriations on Monday, February 13, at 4 PM.
As a reminder the bill will establish a “domestic violent extremism commission” in the AG’s office. It intends to identify solutions to “misinformation,” consider data-tracking methods, suggest new legislation and regulation, collect and report data on incidents, and consider how to fund these activities. (For more information on that bill, please click here.)
It’s time for all hands on deck to oppose this bill. One legislator told us that the only way to stop this bill is with an immense outpouring of objection; we must flood the phone lines and show up en masse. Please email the key committee members with one click, here, as we must stop this bill from moving. Please consider inserting a sentence at the beginning of the form message expressing your concern.
There are many other ways to make your position known, as well. The first and easiest is to register CON. We need thousands of these!
